Day 1: Our Girls State adventure has begun! We have 117 girls registered from 51 schools across New Mexico. We had our opening ceremony at 4:00 pm Sunday (today) and our session started on time. The girls will be filing for city offices tonight and city officers will be elected tomorrow morning. By early afternoon on Monday each city will have elected their mayor and other city officials. This is an exciting time for all. Once the mayor is elected the city will start working on solving their city scenario problems, creating seals, flags, motto, song, and cheer to represent their city.
