Yucca City News
First Day: Registration – Everyone here got registered to a city and county. We got sent to our dorms and met our roommates. Sure, we were nervous but the anxiety did not reflect on our behavior. We each demonstrated confidence and morality.
Meeting the City – It was so nice meeting everyone. A lot traveled quite a distance but we were happy to become acquainted with each other. Of course, names weren’t absolutely clear to some, but we clarified this easily by introducing ourselves and sharing aspects of our lives to the city.
Common Room – We had such a great time here! We separated into groups and indentified Yucca City’s song, cheer, seal, motto, ordinances, and flag!
End of the day – At the end of the day we met in city again and we admit it, We Are Tired! But, this day was incredibly worth it loaded with knowledge and success.
Second Day: Breakfast – We sat together, got to know each other one on one for a bit and some of us began to make closer friendships!
Flag Raising – We learned so much today about the flag. Our color guards gave such instruction as to what the purpose of it.
Elections – May people ran for city counsel. Many were successful and meetings and ordeals were started and began with such grace after oaths lead by the Portales Mayor!
Poppy – This incredible story told of great faith, respect, and honor toward our veterans. We created a poppy wreath in honor of the poppy story that was told by Mary Lou Lopez! Our Government Councilor!
Songs and Games – We had some technical difficulties with our election ballets but while waiting, we sang songs and played fun games.
Ballroom – We had many great speakers today. One especially spoke on the Bluestar that demonstrates faith of distant soldiers and gave Bluestar banners to military families.
Country and State Registration – So many conflicts ladies threw themselves out there. Governors, Secretary, you got it! A lot of our wonderful girls aim high and the most fun out of it is to run and meet new friends J
